Chandler Limited Announces Germ 500 MKII, Little Devil, Germanium Drive & Little Devil Colored Boost

The Chandler Limited Germ 500 MKII 500-Series Preamp is an updated version of Chandler Limited's original Germ 500. This unit has an improved faceplate layout and nicer look. It uses classic germanium transistors in all class A, transformer balanced circuits. The Germ 500 MKII is Chandler's well-known Germanium Preamp adapted for 500 series racks. They use the same transformers and amp blocks to assure the sound is consistent with their rack version. They have updated the power on the MKII so there no known power-up issues with current lunchboxes and rack systems.

Chandler Limited has been told by beta testers that the Chandler Limited Little Devil 500-Series Preamp might be the best piece of Chandler gear yet! What makes the Devil Pre so special? Well, several things. The class A gain stage sounds like no other design Chandler has done. It's big, yet open and full of life. Just about any parameter of the sound is changeable including the ability to change both the Feedback and Bias of the amplifier. The Feedback control increases harmonics thousands of times over the range of the control. The nature of clipping and distortion also changes and ranges from soft Class A clipping to super soft gushy tube type. The sounds range from a very colored and "overbiased" tone to a gently colored and "in your face" tone. Other features of the Devil Pre include High and Low input impedance; transformer balanced line in for using the Devil as a color box on mixes or tracks; low cut; bright switch and more! This unit has no power-up issues with lunchboxes and rack systems.

The Germanium Drive is really a germanium pedal like none you've used before. The Chandler Limited Germanium Drive Guitar Pedal has all the tone and color you would expect from germanium, but none of the mud and none of the fat - only an intense colored germanium tone. This pedal was inspired by Chandler Limited's Germanium preamps and their work with other germanium amplifiers, but has even more to it. The five feedback selections on the Germanium Drive modify the tone, harmonic distortion and clipping of the pedal and offer a nice range of uses from tighter, lightly driven to slightly fuzzy to full on germanium hell!

Wade called this pedal a Colored Boost for a reason! It's not a clean boost, but it's not a fuzz either. The Chandler Limited Little Devil Colored Boost can gently color your Fender or drive your old Marshall into oblivion. The soul of the Colored Boost is the Class A amplifier design and the selectable Feedback/Bias control. The six presets range from slightly fuzzy to a "in your face" plexi sound. Each preset has its own style of harmonic distortion and clipping, with different effects on a sine wave signal. Soft clipping; hard clipping; clipping on the top, bottom or both sides of a sine wave; and significant changes in frequency happen with each click of the Feedback/Bias switch. Capable of 39db of boost, the Colored Boost can easily range from gentle sustain to screaming vintage.
